Have a look at the lookbook which I filmed and edited for my clothing company ‘Kapow Apparel’. I drew influences from many established clothing companies in order to make the final product look as professional as possible. Many of the companies and other lookbooks I found on the forum ‘Hypebeast’ whilst others were found though searching on video hosting website Youtube.
The companies which I drew the most influence from were LRG (Lifted Research Group) and 10 Deep, both having their roots in the skate scene. After watching numerous edits, I set about creating mine.
Most lookbook edits have an introduction but the ones which work best, in my opinion, are the intros which are simple, clear and in keeping with the colour scheme of the clothing on display in the edit.
I filmed a few of my peers skating in town wearing the 2 t-shirts which I have had produced and, as seems to be the case in most lookbooks, I made sure to use a HD camcorder for the best quality final outcome. The silhouette scenes are the most striking, in my opinion, and the HD quality really shows.
As it was the first lookbook edit which I have ever produced, and these are the first products which I have brought out, it was a massive step into the unknown and so I wasn’t sure whether it would be a success but I have received a lot of good feedback regarding both the designs and the lookbook edit so I am hopefully heading in the right direction.
